Fire Suppression – BC
1972 – Pilot N. Paul. Crashed Angus Horne Lake, Wells Gray Provincial Park, BC, 27 August 1972 after engine developed a severe oil leak. [Robert M. Stitt, pers. comm.] Reported erroneously elsewhere as Angus Home Lake. The Department of Transport accident card reveals the following: “During firefighting in a mountainous area, a landing was made near the shore of a lake due to a rapid loss of engine oil. The aircraft came to rest in shallow water.”
