Aerial Spray Program – NB, BC
1961 – Tallied by Larry Milberry at Cartierville, Quebec, May 22, 1961, while en route to NB. Crashed 7 July 1961 2 miles south of Harrison Hot Springs, BC. Pilot Alan Gordon Beveridge was killed. The Department of Transport accident card below describes the accident: “During spray flight, [the] aircraft struck power cables and crashed into [a] farm yard.” The aircraft burned, and “two persons on the ground were injured by pieces of wreckage.”
The crash site has previously been reported as Harrison Lake, which is technically correct as Harrison Hot Springs is located at the southern end of the 60 km long lake.
